Canned Tuna Mash

Back home I loved takki fish mash, but fresh takki is hard to find here. Tuna is widely available, so wherever you are, here is a tuna mash recipe.

Canned Tuna Mash

Ingredients

  • Canned tuna (1 can — 190 grams)
  • Onion (1)
  • Dried chilies (4–5)
  • Mustard oil (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Cilantro (to taste)

Method

  1. First, drain the tuna from the can and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the tuna for 2–3 minutes. A light fry is enough — it removes the raw fish smell.
  2. Lightly fry diced onion in the pan. You can also use raw onion for this mash if you prefer. Fry the dried chilies as well. In a bowl, mash together onion, dried chilies, cilantro, and salt. Add mustard oil to taste and the tuna, and mash until well combined.
